Ar, they're so lovely to see in sequence. Thank you very much. The scenes between Frodo and Bilbo were so well done in the movie, always very touching.

(P.S. The big one of Sam in the Hobbit Appreciation thread is gorgeous too!)

Hello Ezzie! Hi Daisy! How are y'all doing?

those pictures are really cool. I was expecting the one of Bilbo's weird face to be in there. it looks like he and Lij are having this nice convo when all of a sudden Fro gets heartburn and looks insulted.

I should clean up my apartment today. Those of us sans job have some time to clean, though I admit I don't want to! I applied for a job yesterday and keeping my fingers crossed. it's so hard to find anything comparable to my last job right now since people are still suffering layoffs.

Only 5 Master Gardener classes to go before I am done. I have to do 50 volunteer hours to get the title, and I've only done 7 and a half so far. I'm doing 2 and a half more tomorrow which will bring me up to the 10 I need to graduate.

We have a free homeowners hotline here where people can call up and ask about their yards, flowers and landscape and we give them answers. I think that's pretty cool. I'm going to do that as well -- answer the phones.

Saturday we did propagation -- very interesting. I was a Scribe, which meant for the first three hours or so I went around the gardens looking for plant markers and writing down the names on a small map. Then I went inside to the huge map and carefully printed them in, so we all know what is where. Then we learned how to propagate plants and were allowed to take cuttings from any of the plants in the gardens -- and there were a lot to choose from. I got Confederate jasmine and poppy seeds and one other bit of something I can't remember what it's called.

As for LOTR I can't really afford to buy any more stuff. I did see a really cool Frodo and Gandalf kite at Michael's yesterday. I would have liked to have bought it and flown it, it was a really nice shot of the two of them. Now if it had been Legolas, the temptation might've been too much to resist, but resist I did! I didn't even know they made LOTR KITES. I just got a cool dragon kite when i was in CA but haven't had a chance to fly it yet. I've never flown one, and I might as well do it now, right?

Well I've got job hunting and cleaning to do, I will check in later on.

I just can't maintain it myself and I don't know if there's a desire for it amongst the Harem here, anyway. But it's yours if you want it, or just want to look at it to see what once was.

Hiya.

The Haremites all lost hundreds of posts each in the great Aaaaarrrghhhhpocalypse back in January, when the Elijah Wood thread was mysteriously attacked by a something or a someone. My own post count at Imladris dropped from well over 4,000 to just over 2,000. We never found out who or what caused it. It was extremely weird, and distressing.

But, we recovered, and the Harem thrives ... here, and there.

Michael’s has LOTR kites?! Oh, I know where I’m going on my day off. I’ve backed off from buying any other stuff lately. Would have loved to have completed my TOPPS card collection, but once those autograph cards started showing up on E-bay for crazy prices, you couldn’t find the cards anywhere. I don’t like the Decipher cards as much since the pictures are so small, but I have both kinds.

Filian, your Master Gardener program is probably coordinated via the Extension Service in your county?? We have them here, through Extension. It's an excellent program.

Imladris' email thread https are working again -- that should mean that anyone can get back in there just fine again. The domain issue must be resolved (and in Aram's favor, to boot ). Just an FYI.

Ar-Finiel -- the top pic looks especially Harem-like! Why, if we Haremites had a quarter for every time we'd seen that look on our Squire's face! .....

Queenie, unfortunately I didn’t “make” my ears, I got them at a costume shop, as well as the glue. They were awesome and comfortable, and stuck on just like my real ears. I even went to bed with them when I wore them, because I just liked them so much! I could try and find the brand name for you if you like. It’s better if you have someone to help you put them on, just so they’re clipped and aligned right.

I've seen those LOTR kites at Wal-mart, and believe that one of them did indeed feature Master Elf! Oh, there I go tempting you... I haven't flown a kite since I was a kid - two many power lines in my neighborhood

On the subject of LOTR merchandize - have any of you seen the new ToyBiz action figures? There were pics of some of them featured in ToyFare magazine... one is a two-pack of Frodo and Sam... they are supposed to be out this month. Been looking for them, but no luck yet. Think a trip to Toys-r-us is in order.

Daisy: I've seen the new ToyBiz figures at Toys-R-Us this week (and if Fresno has them most other places should, too!).
The only one they didn't have is Bilbo.
I bought Frodo& Sam w/the boat. These little guys are better articulated than the first series, with bendable knees and elbows. Mine also have very nicely painted faces .

Elenillor - I found the Frodo/Sam set at Toys-r-us!!! They also had Gimli/Orc.. but no Bilbo, Strider, or Elrond. Actually.. I bought two Fro/Sam sets... one to keep in the box, and one to play with..

Yeah, bad, I know...

I'll tell you what's really bad - when you notice that the toy Frodo is on the display rack right next to the Witchking , and you redo the display so that he's next to the toy Sam instead and as far away from that Wiki as possible!!!

and I love that *back shot*...
