Painted Ladies Unite!

My tat is doing quite well also. I have to laugh because my boss (who also has a tattoo) offered me the advice that you were given about the cellophane and neosporin! I just smiled and nodded and kept on using my cocoa butter. Maybe it is just due to the age of it, but my tattoo is FAR darker and crisper than his is!

Still love having the squire's name written on my skin - and only I know it! People ask and I just tell them 'it's Elvish for 'Wisdom'' which is the truth or close enough! I am also still amazed that the first thing my husband said when I said "Guess what I did?" was "You got a tattoo" - Guess I am more transparent than I think!

I see most of us can get back in here now.

I posted this over at Hobbiton Hill and I thought I'd add it over here.

I have my wee little Lij forum that we can use as another backup if all else is lost.

In fact I want to start a sort of controversial discussion over there about something that one or two of you may know is REALLY bugging me and would like your imput.

I figured I could put it in my little out of the way board without causing too much of an online ruckus.

Need a venting place for this one topic.

Please stop by.
Here is the "Controversial Forum"

I'm not quite sure what a Kirby is either (I found the Dance in my friend's e-mail sig), but I think it's like a Nintendo game character like Mario or Yoshi or something.... I could be wrong, though

Hmm... revisited Hot Topic the other day.... saw Henna kits but held off on purchase of said kit due to FDA concerns expressed by Ele in Marem Hoot thread.... Although did see "tattoo pen" that seemed intriguing -- a pen that doesn't wash off for a few days.... worth a second look, methinks
Visit to Hot Topic was not in vain, as got a spiffy rearview-mirror windchime with a little nekkid fairy (with a sparkly blue gem which reminded me of the eyes of guess who? ) and little bells like the ones on Lily's Haremish anklet

Posts beginning to sound like Bridget Jones. Go fig

Its true the Harem is like an addiction.I felt physically sick when I thought I wouldnt be able to visit. Didnt realise I had it so bad....

Loved the Vignette , poems and pictures.

Lily - I really can't imagine WHAT might set off the contractions in The Two Towers premier. I mean - Ring-burdened beautiful Wanderfarer, Faramir stepping in with his size 11's and putting a knife to his chest (grrrr!!), Gollum reaching for his throat, Frodo watching the host ride out of Mordor ...

Now what's in all THAT to make anyone maternal?

Happy Birthday, BTW!!!

Chica - just got your lovely note today in the post from Pearl! Thank you! I think I'll blu-tack it on my door to cheer me up and make me feel positive each day before I go to work.

Pearl - thanks for the Mallorn Tree card!

So - what's the news with Imladris? Still down, I know. I've been away for a couple of days. Any news? I'm feeling kind of uneasy about it ...

My tattoo is doing just fine, m'Lils. Lots of cocoa butter and gentle cleansing...no itching or any other problem, and I do not expect any. Thank you again for the research you did into the shop...I know it meant a great deal to all of us who had them done. I am currently telling those who ask or have seen it that it is a quote, in Elvish, from my favorite book, and that it means, "May stars shine upon the hour of our meeting."

What they don't know will not hurt them!!!

My goodness - there have been some wonderful things posted since I was here last

Elda & Arryle: Verilly thou art godesses!

It's fortunate that we don't have birthdays here every day (though I know we have lots this month) because I for one would never be able to to string two rational thoughts together!

Vinnie: loved Pip's visit. If he hasn't got a Harem yet then I'm sure there are lots of names on the waiting list - sort of like putting someone's name down for Eton!

Tattoo gals: Celophane and Neosporin (whatever that might be) -the mind boggles. Mind you, my tatooist had me (or rather the PON, since I couldn't reach) putting Listerene on Ancalagon. Watch out for your nearest and dearest sneaking out and getting their own tattoos - mine scoffed at the very idea and then had one done only a couple of months later.

I've already thanked Chica for her note. Thanks also to the lovely & efficient Pearl and to whoever it was that sent the pocket-sized DDL (Rosie?).

Niph: I think I read somewhere that it was going to be 3 days before Imladris was back up.

(((Lily))), my tattoo is doing great, it is practically healed.

The only thing I just might have some second thoughts about is the size. Maybe I should've made it bigger... It looks so little and lonely on my body

Can you tell I am gradually becoming a tattoo junkie?

My huz asked me what the word means (I was relieved, I thought he does not remember...)
So, I say: "wisdom ... Girls at the Hoot said it looks sexy and you'd like it. So, how does it look?"

He: "At least the letters are really nice looking... as long as I do not ask you again what they really mean"

Me:
Then I tried to compose myself and gave him that Ariel's speech about Frodo vs Elijah, and how the tattoo has nothing to do with the actor and everything to do with my appreciation for immortal literary character...

Have now savored Elda's wonderful vignette, and Arryle's beautiful lyric, and Vinnie's delightful conversation with Pippin, not to mention all the wonderful poems by non-Haremites that were posted--the creativity level is through the roof around here--wonderful, all of you. ((((()))))

{{{{NIPHY and GHYSTE}}}}

"Wisdom" is the perfect reply to questions about my tattoo--not that just anybody will be seeing it, mind you. Good call, Ariel! It saves explaining about literary characters, the name "Frodo" in the original Westron, etc. etc. etc. Like Arryle says, what they don't know won't hurt 'em, heh heh.

Of course I am going to have to start explaining my custom license plates, which I pick up next Monday: FROLIJA. (the maximum was seven letters ). Maybe I'll just say it means wisdom and passion, or something equally vague. Am I a geek or what??

How many of us do have birthdays this month? I know Stormy and Elda do, and QueenEvenstar's is the very 22nd itself--though I don't know if she's followed us over here. Mine is the 23rd, and Cairistiona says hers is toward the end of the month--what day, darlin'? Seems like there were others, as well.

Tata--you rock!!

I knew I'd find you all here as soon as I returned from my long weekend away and couldn't get into Imladris. (Arryle's Harem site was how I first found EW Pt2, and I have lurked around here in the past).

First of all....

Happy belated birthday Lily. Sorry I missed it.

{{{{{{Narya, Stormy, Elda, Arryle, Vinnie, Lily}}}}}} for all your lovely stories and poems. Elda, I have to say that your vignette had the most superlative descriptions of the squire. How are any of us going to come up with anything as worthy ever again? Stormy, I know I've read your vignette somewhere before, but it still made me go all gooey (is that how you spell it?).

Enjoyed reading the 'Gentian' poem TH.

Incidently, 'None of the above' would have been my answer to the 'underpants' question, but I guess I can live with Boxers.

This is a Harem information announcement... for haremites who live in Britain anyhow. Just read in the Radio Times today that THE FACULTY is on C4, Sunday 8th at 10pm, for those of you who don't have it already. Just thought you might be interested.

Hi Pearl just noticed you've left a message.

edit Forgot to say thanks Hobmom for the September wallpaper. It's in place already.

GORBY'S BACK!

Here's the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I promised you...

Ah, I made it. Saw Gorb over in the Refugee camp and had to run over here to make sure his cookies were waiting for him...

And I do have things to say about the things posted here the last day or two, I just haven't been able to put it together. I've spent some time thinking about and empathizing with Elevensies 'storm', and I spent half of yesterday in the ER again, and I'm in the middle of one of those brain scramble moods which usually means a vignette is about to spew forth...

But I do love you all, and read every word, even when I am relatively silent...

Narya! The ER? I hope everything is all right. - And I hear you re: quiet. Sometimes I just have nothing to say. Doesn't mean I'm not there, though.

Chica - FROLIJA! You are too much.

Rosie, Faun Tumnus has just been arrested!

Opaline! What an incredibly swoony sig. What's it from, and who is this poet with that wonderful name?

I didn't realize there were so many September birthdays. Harem Synchronicity strikes again! I will have to replenish my supply of birthday cards.

Oh dear, now K-D is acting weird. There are a bunch of posts missing from this thread in between Ghyste's and Pearl's responses. I posted something about Chica's ultra-cool license plates and that post is no longer there, plus several that came after it. What the?????

Anyway, Chica, you ROCK! And I had a bunch more to say..oh yes, about how you should really send Lij a photo of your plates, maybe with a SUCCOOF or a Frodoll posing with them. I'll bet he would appreciate that!

Narya: ERs are not good places to visit. I hope it's nothing serious. Did you overdo the gardening a wee bit last weekend?

reminisces about the good ol' days of French boxers and button tabs. *sigh*...

Okay ladies, absolutely MUST share this with you--you can all blame Arryle, I had been staying away from eBay for MONTHS, but then she put the thought in my head, and well, tonite (after many failed attempts) I have finally completed a successful bid and will be the proud owner of one of these:

The material swatch is supposed to be from the same fabric used to make his coat.

There are plenty over there, so for the like minded, happy bidding!

I swear, I feel just like some illiterate medieval peasant whose just been shown a sliver of the "One True Cross" by a traveling relic peddler.

NOW...can you imagine, if they could certify...that that scrap...is from the shirt...that he actually....

...wore?

I was planning to go over to that new Elijah Wood thread and post some kind of intelligent commentary on his ACTING, but I can see there's no point in trying to do THAT tonight.

Everyone take a deep breath.

Imladris is back. Sort of.

Except that it's completely empty. Nada threads, nada posts, nothing. Just the bare bones.

Maybe they'll get it all back....

Just thought I'd let you know.

Mel, I am not going to pm my guess, but here it is:
Something to do with Mt. Rainier, either she is:
1. Going to blow her top (I dreampt about that happening, about 4 weeks ago) and you are going to come and witness the historic event before being overcome in poisonous fumes and ash, re-living Sam and Frodo's Mt. Doom adventures.
2. You are going to climb her next summer, not nearly as dramatic, but adventurous nonetheless.

And on another note: there is going to be a really neat-o rock show here, and you will be the key-note speaker on the subject of: "Elfstones, everyday uses"

Or: Elijah Wood will be in town filming a movie? One can hope anyway............
``````````````````
Lily, I do hope your BDay was wonderful, and may God bless the Hobbitling that dwells within. Do not forget to take your folic acid BTW.
`````````````````````````````````
The next Harem moot here? wow, I do like that idea, I like Portland Oregon as an idea, or Cali. If it is here, I volunteer to help plan.

Thanks Narya.

Well, if this is what we have...

I would like to suggest that either Pearl or Niphy go over to the site and re-start the Harem thread.

I think they deserve it.

My two cents.

Thanks {{{Queenie.}}}

Queenie, I think Lily's had enough "frolic" acid for tonight!

Nightshirt? Or coat. Nightshirt... coat. Silky... or tweedy. This may be the nicest decision I've had to make all week!

Weird about Imladris. We've been revirginized?!?

Pearl, I'll definitely deliver that smooch to Mr. W. But I can't promise I'll remember to tell him it's from you.

Gorb! You followed the scent of oatmeal cookies and found us! Ya big lug! iss:
