Happy Belated Birthday Angelica! Hope it was happy!

Sorry Spork that your parents didn't take your trip to KC too well. Maybe if they see your pics of Happy Haremites and the Frodolls. perhaps that will help? Then they will know we're not all axe murderers? {{Hugs}}

Congrats Lily on your Pin search! I'll have to try to find some. And the OA Sam and Frodo. The Houston Targets nearby don't have them. Rosie, you just live in the right area of town I guess! (Never got a Fropin from last year. Wahhhh! )

Elenya, hope it works out with the cinema manager. Maybe if he got lots of messages from the Haremites , he'd know that it would be worth it?

Ok, off to go sneak a snuggle from Frodo......

Gabby, gabby broads! How shall I ever catch up?

Happy Belated Birthday, Angelica!
Hope you get good news about your scan, Narya.
Very very glad the Brit Hooters had such a good time!
Glad you're feeling better, Maeglian.
Congrats on scoring those buttons, Lily!
Sorry your mom didn't appreciate your going to KC, Spork.
Wonderful, wonderful Frodrawing, Ariel. Glad you liked the movie, too.

erm...if I missed anyone, I'm sorry. Just read five pages of posts, brain is still reeling.

As for action figures--finding Orc Armor Fro started an action-figure buying spree unprecedented in the span of my LOTR fanhood. Before the KC Hoot, I possessed one Frodoll, one Fellowship Frodo and one Fellowship Sam. They have now been joined by OA Frodo; Bilbodoll; TT Sam with Rope Climbing Action; FOTR Gandalf; and adorable miniature Frodo, Sam & Ringwraith plus mini-Aragorn on horseback AND mini-Gandalf the White on horseback. AND I have on order from Amazon.com TT Frodo with LightUp Sting, and OA Sam. If they ever get shipped.

Where all this will go in my house, I have no clue. Maybe it's time to seriously consider that second-floor addition.

Thank you for the link to OAF, Hewene. I had tried Amazon UK but couln't find him there. Now I'm actually pondering ordering him and having him travel halfway around the world.

I'm curious about these promo pins you're all discussing. How large are they?

Peachy! Or is that Persica? You've been on stage in Les Mis! Another kind of lovely lady than her Peachyness of the Harem........ Are there no limits whatsoever to your talents? I'm jealously green! And way impressed.
BTW, you were very right about the love the masters a** line, of course. How remiss of me!

So with the good stage experience between you, and Ghyste, and Hewene, what kind of show are you three going to put on when you all meet at a hoot? Probably not some entirely demure and decorous act? Are there other stage acting haremites, too? I'm in awe.

Elenya, keeping my fingers crossed for that movie-experience-of-a-lifetime really happening. Bummer with that cinema guy who can't give you a proper quote. Don't the man know *anything* about serious customers bringing him business, and how they should be treated?

My miles to Rivendell kind of stalled after I got back home after the KC Hoot and it was over 100 every day for at least ten days and the thought of dripping sweat, even on a treadmill in an air-conditioned gym, did not much appeal!

But speaking of hot.... Here's a big hug and a wish for cooling breezes to (((ELDA))) and (((MERYL))) and all Haremites and KD'ers in NYC and Connecticut (((ANAIS)) and (((BETHEL))) and other points east where the heat has taken out the power grid!

So HEWENE and LILY I don't know if you will see this yet but Hewene, thanks for posting those pics of the mini-Weatertop scene.

LILY, were you theone that said you had easy access those? The target where I found my Aragorn one isn't all that close....so if you can get another easily, I'll go for it. Thanks! I hope all of you in the NE cool down soon (I'm from there so I know the summer heat and humidity well). I remember my grandmother getting stuck in an elevator in the 65 NYC blackout.

{{{Cionaudha}}}
{{{Eldalieva}}}
{{{Meryl Marie}}}

Right now I'm just worried that Elda and Meryl get home okay.

worry worry worry...

Rhode Island has power, despite what the networks say. So the two Ocean State Haremites are okay--and I'm glad to see Bethel is okay too!

EvFrodo--I'll pick a pack up for you tomorrow.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hewene--LOL!!! "Queen of Button-Sluts!" You have no idea how close I came to changing my Custom User Title.
Unfortunately whatever pin-acquiring powers I had yesterday faded with today's first light. Today was a total pin-wash out, and it's not looking good. I hit all my hot spots from last year and they are "saying" they are out. I even had one lady tell me "we're out but if we did have them we wouldn't be giving them away." Something tells me this year will not be as easy as last, and I think I may end up going eBay to get an entire set.
However, today was not a total loss. Whilst driving I missed the exit I wanted and had to turn around at the next one. I knew there was a Wal-Mart off that exit so I thought "well, maybe there's a reason you missed your exit--doesn't hurt to stop, you're here anyway." So ran into Wal-Mart which again was a huge flop for the pins BUT they had two boxes of the entire Fellowship Action Figures (all nine figures) for $29.00 each and they also had ROTK Gollum and Smeagol!!! (Smeagol says "nice hobbit!" which is absolutely my favorite line of his from the film!) So it does pay to listen to your inner Haremite.
Chica, I know what you mean. Our Targets and Kay-Bees and Toys'R'Us stores keep feeding me the same old "probably closer to when the movie comes out" baloney. Yeah, well why does HOUSTON have them!!!!! (With all respect to Houston! )
Yeah, I hope Meryl and Elda get home all right, too... and that they weren't in elevators or the subway when the power went out... And that their feet hold out walking, or that they find someplace nearer work to stay and hang out.
This is a bigger area out of electricity than that big ice storm that hit Quebec, Ontario, upstate NY, and New England a few years ago!
Wow!!! In the news, they've been saying that the outage spread as far as Cleveland!! 2 hours from here! That's a bit too close for comfort. We've been fine here, no outage at all (knock wood!) I hope Meryl is still on hiatus from work... At least she'd be home... poor Elda and Meryl! The pictures they have up of the people trying to leave NYC --- what a nightmare. Makes me grateful every time the AC kicks in (which is a lot! it's wicked hot & humid here today!)
Here's good, cool thoughts for all Haremites caught in this outtage.
I wish I could say it was the cause of my lack of AC, but alas . . .
(It's 90 degrees in the house, fer cryin' out loud!!)
My cat is giving me many dirty looks
Even my Hobbit and Legolas standees look sweaty and wilted. We'll remember *this* summer, that's for sure!
(Maybe I should sleep on the deck, wake up early, and look for Mars, which I *still* haven't seen during this closest approach in 60,000 years!)
As far as I know, Meryl is on hiatus until the weekend of the 23rd, when the new season begins rehearsal.
But as I also know, she is quite the gadabout and goes everywhere on the subway, so there's no telling if she was out and about. Her flatmate commutes to and from work on the subway too, I believe....
As does Elda. I suppose it's too much to hope for that Elda had the day off, and isn't trapped in the middle of all that mess....
Bethel, I'm glad the power is on at your house. The news I heard said that Rhode Island, Boston, and Philadelphia were not affected, so I figured Lily and Cion and Tata and Mrs. Underhill and Ariel were all right, and I temporarily forgot that Anais is not in CT right now too. So I hope she's staying cool!
There's a lovely breeze kicking in here, 90 miles (or 30 leagues, if you will ) from the Western Sea. Think I'll go out and do a dance of supplication to Ulmo and Manwe to send great gusts of refreshing sea-laden coolness all across the interior and to the folks in the power outage area!
All is well in Boston. There are a few areas in the Berkshires (westernmost Massachusetts) that have been effected. Or affected. (I wish someone could 'splain the difference to me, once and for all. And me an English major. )
It's toasty here, but not unusually so, and it's actually unusually un-humid. Katydids are katydoing, and there's a nice evening breeze.
I rather suspect that the whole blackout was caused by the massive power-suck of Elda's Middle Earth Transporter. I hope she had the decency to take Meryl with her, and not leave her to sweat it out alone.
