Nearly a week after my return, am finally caught up, you gabby broads!! .... I'm glad the posts slowed down a little whilst the British Hoot was going on, at least! Selfish of me, I know.
Glad things smoothed over with the parental units in re: KC, Spork!
((Finafyr)) -- keep taking care of yourself, and thanks for all the lovely posts lately!
Glad to hear Lily and Narya have both had good luck looking for buttons
... I haven't looked, largely because where I live, it'd be silly to even
try. The same would apply to looking for the TR TT DVD early. Not gonna
happen here, nope! I'm in fact debating whether I should buy it, or rent
it. I haven't watched the FotR TR since the SE DVD came out, and based on
what I've heard about the 43 extra minutes on the TT SE DVD, am thinking
I probably won't be watching the 'original' release that often either....
Not sure what I'll do....
Must share though, that as I was reading about 'snagging' buttons, I accidentally read "SHAGGING" buttons!
Tight hugs for Cion in re: her entirely-too-real day; and for Ellin
too [I just made a chocolate raspberry truffle cake with fresh raspberries
- basically a flourless chocolate cake, much like fudge with fresh berries
-- you're welcome to as much as you'd like! ] .... And more ((hugs)) for Ariel, for the loss of Fred. I know how hard it is to lose a horse you love .... And ((hugs)) for Ghyste -- it sounds like you've probably had a pretty difficult week/weekend.
Nice to see some new Haremites ((BagendBabe)) ((EHL)) ((Winter, whom I've 'seen' around )), and -- Tamzin, I don't know if I remember meeting you before? If not, welcome!
Also nice to see our occasional posters delurk. And great to hear from
Kiriseth/EK, who is greatly missed! (((Kiriseth))) -- and nice to have
Crystal back and posting.
I really enjoyed the cicada/crickets/etc. conversations. I grew up
with crickets (of the shiny black variety), which I love -- when I went to
grad school in Kansas, I heard cicadas for the first time - and thought "Wow,
these are really old power lines!! In the middle of a big city!!" The sound
never completely grew on me.
EvFro mentioned the fires in Montana - yes, the fire season has been
pretty active in MT this year. Hubby was up there at the beginning of this
week, and came home with ash all over the car. Hoping winter comes early,
with plenty of snow to put the fires out.
In re: the letter -- I say go for the delivery ASAP, and I'm glad we're
not identifying our location completely. I think while our community is
lovely (as are the Faculty, Goonies, etc. etc. etc.) -- it does take people
awhile to figure out how we work, and *if* someone who didn't 'get' us popped
in to check things out, I think it could be easy to dismiss what we say.
And -- Just remembering the relocation to KD, I think we've got at least
35 members who post relatively regularly -- and probably another 20+ who
are sometime posters, and frankly I've no idea how many 'lurkers' we have
- but I think there are a lot out there. (((Lurkers))) ....
Am glad the letter discussion seems to have resolved peacefully, which
I knew it would, with everyone involved. ((Hewene)) ((Erendis))
Can't finish the post without mentioning how powerful the new Frodo
poster is -- nor the spoiler pics and hints/descriptions!! I'm pretty excited
about Tuesday, whether I end up deciding to buy or rent .... Not even going
to *think* about how exciting RotK is going to be!
