Beat me to it, Peachy.

There, there, Gorba-g. Just remember how many people don't even know who the vice president is. (As if this place needs a "vice" president...)

Interesting note on the Harem limericks, quicksilver. I might have to check the archives!

Tamzin said, "Narya, you're a great rhymer
Can you advise a poem-target first timer?"
Narya said, "Oh, my dear
From the things I've read here --
There's the hills. I hope you're a good climber."

(((Tamzin))) (((Narya))) (((Peachy, Ellin, Meryl, and all the other rhymers))) (((Gorba-g))) (((hugs the whole world, because Elijah won Best Actor at the Saturn awards -- details on the Faculty thread)))

Where is everybody?!? Is everyone really that upset about the Gorbag typo and they've gone off to storm Woolies?

Man, it *is* quiet in here! Happy almost-Mother's-day to all you Moms!

And Happy Belated Birthday to Hobbitonlass! Hope it was wonderful!

Narya! The first button of the season! Go, Queen of the Buttton Sluts! *NO* buttons here yet. I haven't seen a single one. Sigh...

Taurendil! I remember that sig! Still lovin' it!

Gorbang??? Gorbang???? How *dare* they!

Lovin' the limericks. Wish I could come up with one...

Ev, no cicadas here yet. We *do* get them, but no sign yet this year.

So, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction! I play Bunko with a group of women, mostly folks from work, and their friends. I had just received the cutest Aussie Frodo/Sam pin I bought on eBay:

So I ended up wearing it to work and then to Bunko. Nobody commented at work, but at Bunko, folks kind of stared at it, asked "Who is that?" thinking it was nieces/nephews or somesuch (it is on the small side). I told them it was Frodo and Sam. Some knew who they were (my LOTR obsession -- but not the Frodo love -- is well-known at work) some didn't. I explained, and commented it was a great conversation piece.

A while later, though, one of the gals (who doesn't work with us anymore and hasn't seen my cubicle) noticed my pinky ring that I got at Disney World. I didn't even remember I had it on. So as she's squinting to read it, she realizes it says "Frodo". She and a few others look at me, and she says "What's going on here? What's all this?" So, figuring I had to say *something*, I chuckled and said "Yes, I'm in love wth Frodo Baggins! He's short & has hairy feet, but who cares!"

At which point everyone laughed, and the conversation moved on... Dodged a bullet with the Truth! Who'd have thunk?

Hewene

Happy Mother's day you red hot mamas!

I'm logging in from a cyber cafe before I go out for lunch with my mum because a storm shorted out the power at home. Had to hem my new pants by candlelight.

What the heck is bunko, Hewene? Sounds kinda Haremish you know my filthy mind..

Hey, this is my 500th post. Woohoo! *throws confetti*

'Kay, now I have to run around and try to figure everything out so I can answer the inevitable questions.

Lookie! Stuff!

Too bad this refit didn't provide things like all-nude versions of the swoon threads or anything

That smilie looks like Bubs from Homestar Runner! Hee!

Yeah, so this post had no point. At all. I'm all about the non sequiters, yo

New board update, new format... Must christen it with a few good squire shots.

Started to panic when I couldn't get on the board today. So far, one change I like is more space for bigger pictures.

Peachy, congratulations on 500 posts!

Well, at least the Squire still looks the same.

And as luscious as usual.*drool*

I had a moment of panic when I got to KD at first as I couldnt remember my password. Took me a few goes to get it right.

Thanks Mariole, that's two limericks for me now!

The lasses all love Frodo's Harem
Where each gets a chance to ensnare 'im
No appointments cause fights,
It just wouldn't be right,
'Cause friends do the best thing and share 'im!

Oh my gosh, I wrote a Harem limerick! *Way too pleased with herself*

Congratulations on 500 posts of Peachy perfection, Peachy! You know, you chose the perfect username for yourself?

Thank you for the pics, Ezzie!

Dear God! Could it be??

Yes, I've come back. For now anyway. And I'm so glad I did! Lovely piccies, Ezzie!
In case anyone has wondered where I've been (and it's okay if you haven't because I'm still going to tell you ) I've been looking into colleges, having appendicitis scares, working in a nursery and starting an at-home costume business. Not much time for coming here unfortunately. But it is nice to know there is a lovely bunch of ladies giving the Squire his much deserved attention.
And though I don't have time to reply properly to all your posts, I am reading! Love and (((((((huggles)))))))))) to you all!

funny funny limmericks~

I got a nice prezzie from huz for mum's day, the 10 week rental card and the rotk dvd (when it comes in). I may ask for a button, but I usually have no luck.

``bunco=a chance to get together, talk, eat drink, maybe win a coupleabucks. It is a dice game, very easy. I won a gift basket last bunco full of yummy vanilla stuff. Our group has loser prizes too.

peace
ps, I see crystal has been having fun with the new smileys!

Every now and then I like to be reminded of why I lurk in the Harem.

Gorgeous caps, Ezzie. You're right, with our info at the top instead of the left margin, there's more room for hobbit loveliness. I'm anxiously awaiting the versions Spork alluded to.

Score!!! I went to my local Suncoast again, looking for a Rohan Merry (still no sign) and then asked the workers behind the desk if they got any of the promo buttons for ROTK. The guy looks at the gal and says "Yes! I think they came in yesterday!" She: "Really? I want one!" He (to me) "How many do you want?" Not being shy (SURPRISE!!) I said "As many as you'll give me! But Frodo and Sam would be my first choice!"

So he goes in the back and pulls out a box, as yet unopened. Posters to post, a window clingy, and an unopened pack of buttons. He spreads them out and says "Take what you want. I don't even know who these guys are, I haven't seen the movies. ( ) We need to keep 5 for the employees to wear (at which point She says "We have to *wear* the promo buttons?) but you can have the rest".

So I ended up with: Frodo, Sam, Merry & Pippin, Eowyn (spelled correctly this time, even with the ' over the E) (for those who don't know, they spelled it Eowin on the TTT buttons!) (thanks, Mel!) Faramir, Gandalf and the Ring. And this was the FIRST place I asked that even *had* them! I got all giggly, and thanked them profusely, and they seemed very happy. I said "This is so great! It's almost like..." and He finished "Christmas!" And they gave me the window clingy, too!

A happy button slut am I!

Oh, and I pre-ordered my ROTK TE DVD at Sam Goody's and got this exclusive lithograph as the promo item! Man, they knew what to do to get *my* business!

All in all, a great evening at the Mall!

Whee! Really liking the new look around here. I really like that you can insert smilies and tags in the middle of stuff you've already typed, wherever the cursor is, rather than it automatically going to the end of your text like in the old version...

Patricia, I agree about the no kissy smilie! I think old posts with the kisses missing look sad. I complained, and was told the kissy smilie was back, but some people couldn't see it. If you put : k in your post, without the space, it shows up for some. I just get a blank box like this . I think someone was pulling my leg....

Peachy, queenie had it right about Bunko. I'd never heard of it until I moved to the MidWest. It's a very simple dice game, who's real purpose is to serve as an excuse for getting together to gab, eat and drink a lot! Much like Hooting! A fun time. Eveyone throws in $5 to the pot, and at the end, you split the pot up between the 1st & 2nd highest scores, plus the lowest score gets their $5 back.

You know, when I first heard Sporkie talk about an all-nude Harem, I visualized all of *us* au naturel. In my case, a scary thought! Spork quickly
