Commonly Used Abreviations
Or 'What the heck do they mean by the 'NOR'?'

Arghapocalypse - The first calamity to strike the harem.  The first incarnation of the thread, hosted at Imladris.net (RIP) was hacked and most of its nearly 5000 posts were lost.  It was a sad day for the harem.

BEWTE - 'Bag End West Tol Eressea' - The home in which we all live on the Lonely Isle.  It is a smial built by Bilbo and/or Frodo, though some reports say that the elves made it, and it is a duplicate of Frodo and Bilbo's home in Hobbiton - only big enough and grand enough to fit all the haremites who could possibly want to live there inside it.

BEW – Bag End West

Cheesecake - Soul food for the harem.  Relieves the stress of swooning, harem frenzies and particularly intense encounters with 'The Eyes'.  Should also be noted that Harem cheesecake is calorie and fat free.

DDL - The Diminutive Dark Lord! - Truly the tastiest little AU of the AU.  Ghyste's classic series of vignettes outlining the truth of what really happened to the One Ring.

DDDL - The Dirty Diminutive Dark Lord.  Wants cleaning, but will most decidedly be in charge of the soap.

Elwood – short form of Elijah Wood

EW – Elijah Wood, of course

FLWOB – Frodo Loving Whore of Babylon. Affectionate term (in case you were wondering)

Frobow - Frodo's Elbow

Frodoll – 12” Frodo figure with fabric clothes (see the Frodoll journals)

Frodosutra - 

Frolicking - Both the act of skipping merrily about BEW and the act of licking merrily all over the squire!

Frolijah – The phenomenon that is Elijah Wood becoming Frodo – with some adherents claiming that he is actually channeling Frodo.

Froment - An exquisite Frodo moment... usually captured in the form of a delicious illustration or particularly sensual vignette.

Froshadowing – the existence of moments in prior Elijah Wood movies which seem to foreshadow his role as Frodo.

Frotrum - The little space between the septum of Frodo's nose and the top of his upper lip - particularly notable in Frolijah and known to be a very sensitive part of the anatomy.

Frovoice - The lovely, lyrical voice that sends a shiver down the spine of any haremite

Gabby broads – affectionate term for the residents of the Harem, who can burn up more posting space in a short time than any other thread.

The Gap of Frohan – the tiny tantalizing gap between Frodo’s front teeth.

Gorbag-the-Door-Orc ( ) - Our very own security system.  One of the few males to grace the harem, Gorbag keeps the ladies protected as long as we keep him fed with low fat, vegetarian cookies (without nuts - very important to remember this!)

HAC - The Heaving Alabaster Chest - named for the scene in TTT in which Faramir holds a swordpoint to Frodo's chest and lifts the one ring off it.  Of course, any haremite worth her salt was staring at the hypnotic roll of alabaster skin under finely wrought mithril!

Harem – encompassing all the members of the dedicated Frodo loving community, said to inhabit a replica of Bag End at Tol Eressea, residing with him to provide comfort and loving care. Passionate comfort and loving care. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Haremites – all the members of said Harem

Harem Frenzy - The sudden burst of swooning and posting activity that commences when a particularly tasty still/film comes to light.  It is a glory to behold.

PCOD - Pearl's Crack of Doom - Pearl's cleavage.  No harm has ever come to any male plunged down it. 

PHF – Pervy Hobbit Fancier. Originally coined  from The Very Secret Diaries by Cassie Claire.

The Ripper - 'Unknown' mass shredder of Frodo's clothing, last seen on the Frodo's Harem thread during the month of November 2005.

Marem Hoots - A translocation of principle letters created this lovely little phrase.  It was deemed ill advisable, at the time of the first Harem get together to plaster signs that said 'Harem Moot" all over a sleepy Vermont town.  People would have talked.

NOR - 'the nipple of Rivendell' - term used to describe the brief glimpse of nipple that Frodo shows in Fellowship of the Ring when he is recovered from his wounding at Weathertop.  This fleeting image has teased the mind of many a fevered haremite.

The Squinch – The Furrowing of The Brow.

The Squire - Frodo Baggins, Esquire, Formerly of Bag End, Hobbiton, lately of Bag End West, Tol Eressea.

Strange Looks™ - The stares haremites invariably receive when engaging in the most normal of haremitic activities, such as swooning for the Squire, or squeeing or spending hours deliberating over exactly which of three identical children's toys calls to her most distinctly.

SsoG - Smirking Sons of Gondor.  Let it not be said that haremites only have eyes for their squire.  We are also partial to the delicious smirks of Isildur, Boromir, Aragorn, and I suppose Faramir (did he smirk?)

SUCCOF - Stand-Up Cardboard Cutout Of Frodo, as nabbed from video stores across the globe.

The Tent Peg - Euphemism for the similarly shaped protuberance on the Squire himself.  See also, The One Tool.

The Movies – if you need a definition of this, I’m not sure why you’ve asked for the dictionary.

The One Shirt - The lovely linen shirt that goes from delicate cream to rather ripped toffee on the way to Mordor.  Made famous in Meryl Marie's brilliant vignette of the same name.

The One Tear – the lone tear that falls from Frodo’s eye as her turns outside Moria.

The One Tool - Perfect for any occasion.  

The One Zit – the left chin blemish that appears and disappears during FotR, proving once and for all that movies are not shot in chronological order. Most noticeable in the scene approaching the Argonath.

Vignette - A short, usually descriptive literary sketch detailing a particularly fine Froment.  The harem is famous for them.

Valkyripper - The Norse version of the harem's Ripper.
