Peachy's Fanfic Recommendations
Anything
Teasel writes is brilliant, and her site is an excellent place to find the
best of the best. ( http://members.aol.com/Brumblepop/index.html)
Come Back To Me are among the best fics I’ve ever read. In Come Back To
Me (can be M/P foreshadowing if you are so inclined), Pippin meets an
Entwife. (Sounds silly? Read it. Angsty, poignant and perfect.) Best
origin-of-hobbits explanation I’ve ever read.
Frodo Hill. A Quest WiP (F/S, even some Frodo/Faramir) that absolutely
rocks. It’s hilarious. Read Fanny Hill to see what she’s parodying. (I
even get a mention).
Hobbits On Ice. F/S. The best example ever of erotic writing where no-one
lays a finger on each other. Sam and Merry watch Frodo skate. I love this.
Europanya (http://www.geocities.com/europanya/fic.html)
is a superb storyteller. Read A Fallen Candle's Flame, F/S, and WiP The
Claiming of the Ring. In the latter, the hobbits lose the Ring to Sauron
and are captured in Barad-dur. Nailbiting.
Josan, the Pole-dancing fic. (http://www.angelfire.com/zine2/josan/misc/pole.html)
Frodo does a Full Monty for an enthusiastic audience. This is the nadir,
the ne plus ultra, of Frosmut. Phwooar.
Singe Addams’ (http://www.geocities.com/singeaddams/LOTR.html),
Blinded, PG. Captured by Faramir’s men, Frodo remembers a happy and
delectable kissing game at a pre-Quest party, starring Rosie. F/S implied.
Cara J Loup. (http://www.luminousbeings.net/bitoflight/)
Nobody writes slash to match the poetic beauty of Cara. Her writing blows
me away. For a Star and Half is lovely - Sam overhears a tavern
conversation and starts thinking about kissing Frodo. It’s the prequel
to Winnow and Rhyme. Frodo and Sam angst so much over every little
misunderstanding in that story I want to smack them sometimes. But it’s
so romaaaaantic!
Achillea Millefolium, The Night Season. F/S, N17. (http://www.geocities.com/eroticpiracy/nightseason.htm)
This rocked the fandom and for good reason - it’s one of the best
fanfics ever written. Starting innocuously, it slowly draws the reader in
as you realise what’s going on - and then you’ll bawl over it. The
plot is simply two days at Bag End, showing the details of Sam’s chores.
By day, he and Frodo are strictly master and servant. But every once in a
while, at night, something else happens. The tension is unbelievable.
Bill the Pony. (http://caralil.slashdom.com/paddock.html)
"Foolish Games". Is justly called the sexiest fic there is. The
famous four play a game that gets hotter.. gulp.. hotter.. (head
explodes). Oh, baby. And The Making of Samwise. WiP. Keeps getting better
and better.. oh, will they ever get it on?
Willow-Wode (http://www.willow-wode.net/)
Rites of Passage. Slash. A WiP that has me on my knees. Amazing detail of
Brandy Hall and fleshed-out characters, and a pubescent, angst-ridden
Frodo, plus unwanted attentions from the nasty Lotho Sackville-Baggins.
Should win prizes for the slash scenes, including the chapters Nexus and
Symbiosis. Simply wonderful.
Also read Art Nouveau, F/S. Set in Rivendell on The Bed, with a blindfold.
Yow.
Lobelia Sackville-Baggins. (http://www.houseofhobbits.com/fanfics)
Rain, the inset chapters, Sexy. As. Hell. This is where you’ll find
Seductive!Feral!Frodo! Rain is my favourite F/S, with Frodo’s whiplash
temper making for some powerfully passionate angst. And The Code of the
Brandybucks is a sexy, hilarious send-up of Wodehouse.
Elanor Gardner. "Falling out of the Sky". F/S, R. First time.
Fanfiction site.
Beautifully written (and incredibly hot) first-time tale filled with stars
and wildflowers. (http://www.the-green-door.net/)
Fennelseed. (http://home.earthlink.net/~fennelseed/)
A Dark Night and a Light Sleeper, F/S. R. First time. Sam thinks Frodo is
asleep during the Quest and well.. things progress from there. My Eru,
it’s erotic.
Lessons in Maturity. F/S. N-17. Pre-Quest, first time. Frodo teaches Sam
about ahem.. certain pleasurable activities. Wonderfully smutty, but not
without angst.
Frayach’s Legacy series. F/S, PG so far. The writing is exquisite and
the characterisation is beautiful. (http://lightindarkplaces.luminousbe...ayach-main1.htm)
Heidi Gamgee’s In the Grey Twilight. F/S, PG. Angsty, with a shock
ending you’ll either hate or love. (http://www.west-of-the-moon.net/ser...ing?authorID=34)
Elenya’s All That I Had. A joy to beta, and a great post-Quest full of
angst and sex and twists. Yay! (http://www.west-of-the-moon.net/ser...ashStoryListing)
